Discussion City Council Policy B -17 establishes criteria for parks, facilities, and recreation program donations within the City. The policy is structured to establish a fair and uniform procedure for making gifts to the City, and to make the donation process easier for staff and donors. The City has received a request from Pam Scalzo (Attachment A) to donate a bench at D Street and Oceanfront boardwalk. The donated bench (Attachment B) is included on the City's Official Bench List. Attachment C shows the location of the proposed bench donation. Since the value of the bench is greater than $1,000.00, the donation is eligible to receive a dedicatory plaque that will be placed on the bench. The submitted plaque verbiage, which complies with City Council Policy B -17, is "In Recognition of Hurricane Hank and Bodysurfing Barb Nuetzel ". Mr. and Mrs. Scalzo, Council Member Michael F. Henn, and the Balboa Peninsula Point Association have received a copy of this report and a notice of the Commission meeting. Additionally, as per the Council Policy B -17, all adjacent property owners within 300 feet of the donation site were also notified of the Commission meeting. This bench donation would replace an existing wooden bench. Discussion City Council Policy B -17 establishes criteria for parks, facilities, and recreation program donations within the City. The policy is structured to establish a fair and uniform procedure for making gifts to the City, and to make the donation process easier for staff and donors. The City has received a request from Richard Bobinski (Attachment A) to donate a bench at Little Corona beach walkway. The donated bench (Attachment B) is included on the City's Official Bench List and will match the existing benches at this site. Attachment C shows the location of the proposed bench donation. Since the value of the bench is greater than $1,000.00, the donation is eligible to receive a dedicatory plaque that will be placed on the bench. The submitted plaque verbiage, which complies with City Council Policy B -17, is "Donated for Andrea Gordon Bobinski". Mr. Bobinski, and Council Member Nancy Gardner have received a copy of this report and a notice of the Commission meeting.
