As part of the City's overall grid and annual trimming schedule, the City's tree service •
contractor pruned trees within the Spyglass Hill, Buffalo Ranch, and Newport Heights
areas.
The attached Tree Activity Report summarizes requests and field activities performed
during the past months.
Beach Maintenance Activities
Recently, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) issued a 5 -star rating for 38th
Street and 52nd/53rd Street beaches, and a 4 -star rating for Orange Street beach. NRDC
rates 200 popular beaches across the country based on exceptionally low violation rates
for bacterial standards, and strong testing and safety practices from 2009 - 2011. These
high ratings are a direct result of the excellent work of the beach maintenance, storm
drain, and street sweeping crews in the Operations Support Division.
