Include any special qualifications you have which are particularly appropriate to the position for which you are applying. As a ten year resident of the City of Newport Beach and a father of three growing boys, I have come to appreciate the importance or participating in the overall process of city governance. This appreciation began as a desire to be a good role model for my sons by being involved in various school and church activities. Because of my profession, it has evolved into the true appreciation for civic duty and process. I have worked extensively with various municipalities as a real estate developer. This experience has given me additional insight into how city processes work, the process of outlining goals in it's General Plan, and how those goals are (or are not) achieved. 1 have also gained an appreciation for the hard work that our elected and appointed officials put in to give back to the community. In preparing to summarize my qualifications for the above mentioned committees and boards, I reflected on why I may be more qualified than the next person. In short, i believe wholeheartedly in giving back to the community in which I live. My family is a regular participant in daily life in Newport Beach, from.weekly visits to the library for story time to appreciating the natural beauty of our Newport beaches. I feel that I have a good grasp of my community's needs and feel that I have the background, both professionally and personally, to assist our elected officials in making decisions that are for the benefit of current and future residents.
