March — April 2003
Website Traffic Report
Compiled and Prepared
by Ray Wyman Jr (Heavypen Productions)
About this Report
This report is an assessment of raw traffic data recorded for NEWPORTBEACHFILMFEST.COM during
the months of March and April 2003.
Terminology used in this report: "Sessions" — visitor sessions; " Pageviews" — a full display of any page
during any session; and "Hits" — number of times that the server was activated. Web marketers pay close
attention to results from "Sessions" and `Pageviews" because these metrics offer the best indication of user
interaction within the site — e.g., visiting and viewing pages. A single session may generate a number of
pageviews. "Hits" is a raw technical number useful only for measuring total server activity. Alexa.com, a
third -party organization that ranks approximately 27 million Websites, provides the ranking data included
in this report.
March/April highlights:
❑ More than 70% of site traffic in this period was generated from March 24 through April 11.
❑ 263,435 pageviews generated
❑ 27,850 sessions received
• ❑ Top Alexa Ranking achieved: 66,234`b of 27 million total Websites monitored by Alexa.com

Dear Gregg,
I'm writing to let you know how much we appreciated our partnership with the
Film Festival this year. Everyone in your organization was a joy to work with.
Your pre -event planning was very complete and professional, and your execution
was flawless.
• I'd particularly like to recognize Keiko Beatie for her exceptional sensitivity to our
special requirements. But, again, everyone involved from your end exceeded our
expectations.
•
All of us here at the museum are extremely pleased with our experience this year
and we hope we can be part of the Festival in the years to come. I've heard
nothing but praise of your efforts from our management team, our Board, and all
who worked with you.
The Film Festival has clearly established itself as a major event for Newport
Beach and Orange County. All of you who dedicate so much effort to making it a
success have every right to be very proud. You have my sincere thanks.

Dear Gregg,
On behalf of The Newport Beach Premiere Cinema Guild, the fifty member support guild for
The Newport Beach Film Festival all of whom are active members of the Newport Beach
community, we would like to express our appreciation for your diligence and dedication. As
the founder, it is your vision and perseverance that has catapulted the Newport Beach Film
Festival to its impressive status.
The Newport Beach Film Festival, as you know, has grown and developed into a welcome
and exciting enhancement to the Newport Beach community. It has brought together
culturally minded community leaders with members of the local business community who
recognize the benefits of having an event of this caliber in our city.
The Newport Beach Film Festival partners with prestigious professional organizations such
as the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, The Newport Beach Conference and Visitors
Bureau, The Newport Beach Restaurant Association and Fashion IslandlIrvine Company.
However, the benefits of this festival are not just recognized by local community members.
Within three years, the Newport Beach Film Festival has grown to such prominence and
prestige that even sophisticated Hollywood -based film industry professionals who have
recently attended, rank it on a par with well established Film Festivals that have been
ongoing for nearly two decades.. In fact, visiting film makers from all over the world were
highly impressed with the Newport Beach Film Festival. As this event continues to
strengthen and grow, we have no doubt that it will be viewed as a significant and
internationally acclaimed film festival bringing even greater cultural stimulation and pride to
the residents of Newport Beach. As Co-Presidents of the Premiere Cinema Guild, we are
extremely committed to working as a group to continue to support this exciting event and
make it a focal point for the City of Newport Beach and its citizens.
We look forward to joining you in making the Newport Beach Film Festival 2004 both an
exciting and a memorable event.

Dear Ms. Beatie and members of the Newport Beach Film Festival:
I want to thank you on behalf of all the foster parents and children who
attended the special Children's Film Festival held on Saturday April 5th.
Every person who attended gave the event rave reviews. The films, the boats,
the soft drinks, gift bags and the atmosphere of the event were universally
• rated as outstanding by every one of the foster moms and dads I have talked
with since the event. Quite a few of the families mentioned to me that the
event was a springboard for their family to go out to lunch and spend the
rest of the day in the Newport Beach marina area.
•
Everyone was deeply grateful that you and the Newport Film Festival
organization would invite the foster families to share in this wonderful
experience. All of the foster parents were deeply touched that they were
remembered and recognized for their constant efforts by being included in
the invitation to this very special event.
I want to add my thanks for your thinking of the foster parents to be
included. I was glad of the opportunity to meet you. I enjoyed event as well.

Dear Mr. Schwenk:
Thank you so much for including as in the wonderfully innovative programs of the Newport
Beach Film Festival this year. We appreciated the opportunity to participate with your screening
of "Heart of the Sea" and share the moving story of Rell Sunn. She courageously fought her
battle with breast cancer with grace and dignity, much like the way she approached her passion
for surfing. Rell's beauty and spirit did not leave a dry eye in the Lido Cinema after the
screening.
We were so honored to be invited to speak to the audience about the life - saving breast cancer
• programs that we provide to the community. It is a creative marriage of art and compassion to
pair related non profit groups with the films in the festival. I hope that someone in the audience
that evening was compelled to wonder what they would do if they were diagnosed with breast
cancer.
It was a touching and visually breathtaking film and we were so proud to be included in the
success of the Film Festival. Please let us know if any other opportunities arise where we may
be able to partner again in the future. Thank you again for a memorable evening.
Warm 7re, ards,
Monica McDade

• Dear Gregg:
Balboa Performing Arts Theater Foundation
There are so many reasons to thank you, and the 2003 Newport Beach Film Festival, for all you've
done to benefit the Balboa Performing Arts Theater.
The "Between Strangers" screening and reception evening was a mega hit with all who attended.
Your introductory remarks prior to the film were so extremely generous and right on the mark. The
complimentary tickets; working with you and your talented team of "professional volunteers'; the
invaluable connections you provided for us to network with important community leaders; I could go
on.
I'll just summarize by saying that we truly appreciated the opportunity to play a part in the Festival
and hope it will be an ongoing collaboration in the future.
The Balboa Performing Arts Theater is on its way to becoming an intimate, multi -use venue for
music, dance, theater, film, educational programs and more. We look forward to a continuing,
mutually beneficial partnership with the Newport Beach Film Festival and hope this is the "beginning
of a beautiful friendship."
See you at the movies!
Best regards,
Mary Lonich

Dear Keiko,
Thank you so much for allowing us to participate in the Newport Beach Film
Festival this year. The community outreach program you created demonstrated
a tremendous amount of support for all art forms, not just films. It is by working
together that we can make this a better world for all artists.
• As you know, I am also involved at the Orange County High School of the Arts.
Mike Nielsen, Director of Film and Television Conservatory, is very excited about
entering some of the students projects in the film festival next year. That is just
another example of what a wonderful job you and your organization are doing.
Many thanks for all of your support. Please do not hesitate to let me know if we
can help you.in any way.
Sincerely,
Linda Safran
