HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 - Level Two Water Supply Shortage - CorrespondenceReceived After Agenda Printed July 12, 2016 Item No. 10 From: Liz Newman <Liz@lsnewman.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2016 12:48 PM To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Enough water? The City of Newport Beach is restricting water use for those of us who already live here. New places are springing up like drought -resistant plants, but they aren't drought resistant! They will all need water. This makes me wonder about the motives of the city council. How can they keep approving more living projects when we don't have the water we need now. PLEASE use your heads. councilmembers! Liz Swiertz Newman 22 Skysail Drive Corona del Mar, CA 92625 Received After Agenda Printed July 12, 2016 Item No. 10 From: Rieff, Kim Sent: Monday, July 11, 2016 8:18 AM To: Murdoch, George Subject: FW: Water and over development -----Original Message ----- From: Deborah Dorf [mailto:deborandorf@me.com] Sent: Sunday, July 10, 2016 4:38 PM To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Water and over development To Whom It may Concern, As residents we are being penalized for watering our lawns, (brown is the new green) we are being asked to take shorter showers. There is signage that says the city is adhering to water conservation. We are in a major draught. And in the same breath you are allowing more development. What is wrong with this picture!?I What's wrong with you? When the water becomes unavailable more revenue will not be able buy something that is not there. Oh and lets talk about the extra traffic and the traffic that no one here needs or wants. As a long time resident I just want to say enough is enough. We are sick of the city Kow Towing to developers. It really makes me want to know what the city council members are getting personally to make these kinds of decisions that are not in the best interests of your constituents or our city. We are not stupid enough to believe you are making these decisions in our best interests. The silent majority will not remain silent. I am seeing clear evidence that more and more citizens are becoming disillusioned with our City planners and city government. You are cultivating angry constituents. We are being rationed on how much water we can give to our plants. Why would anyone be allowed to build more anc bring in more people needing water until we who have lived here for years have an ample supply of water? WHY? Received After Agenda Printed July 12, 2016 Item No. 10 From: Cory Muehlhauser <dreorym@sbcglobal.net> Sent: Tuesday, July OS, 2016 9:13 AM To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Stop further urban development in Newport Beach It is not wise to approve additional housing projects in a city that requires water rationing and severe overage penalties from its current residents. Please vote "no" on additional development that will make our currently beautiful city no longer quite so beautiful to live in. Thank You, Cory Muehlhauser, MD Sent from my Whone Received After Agenda Printed July 12, 2016 Item No. 10 From: nfrank318@aol.com Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2016 1:37 PM To: City Clerk's Office Subject: Water and growth in N.B. I am concerned about the continued growth of developments in the city of Newport Beach. We have lived here for 24 years, and seen the traffic and noise increase, the coyotes deprived of their environment and taking our pets, and now the increased development of apartments around Fashion Island and the non-stop building on every possible square inch of land. It seems the attractiveness of our area is being diminished. And now the water problems. Please consider the quality of life and the possible decrease of the value of living here. Water is essential. It may be finite. You jeopardize a lot. Please reconsider your continued development. Thank you, from Susan Franklin, 318 Snug Harbor Rd. Newport Beach. We are building ourselves into a state of permanent water deficiency. Please accept this as my vote for avoiding unchecked growth in Newport Beach. It is so ugly brown it effects my demeanor. If we can't water our lawns then we DO NOT need more people and more development!!!! I will fight hard to remove any from office that vote otherwise!!
