HomeMy WebLinkAboutC-8082-3A - Grant Agreement for Special Event Support Program FY 17-18 - Resturant WeekMEMORANDUM Date: August 3, 2017 To: Dave Kiff, City Manager From: Mary Locey, Management Analyst Subject: Grant Funding for Newport Beach Restaurant Week City Manager's Office At its July 11, 2017, meeting, the City Council approved awarding special event funding for 19 Community and Charitable events and five Signature events in fiscal year 2017- 2018. The Community and Charitable events receive funding in the form of a "credit" toward City related fees. The Signature events are required to enter into a grant agreement with the City. The agreement includes agreed upon performance measurements, which the event organizer has to report on after the event's conclusion. The Newport Beach Restaurant Association Business Improvement District (NBRA BID) received $9,000 in funding for its 2018 Restaurant Week event under the Signature Event category. Since the NBRA BID is a part of the City and not a separate entity (unlike the other grant recipients), staff does not see a need to enter into an agreement for this event. The event performance measurements were submitted as a part of the application process and reporting will be required upon event completion. For the last six years, no agreement was required to process the grant funding for the NBRA BID. If you agree that we should follow the same process for the 2018 Newport Beach Restaurant Week event, please sign below for processing the payment authorization.
