City Hall,Newport Beach,Cal.Apri1 12th,1915.
The Board of Trustoos of the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned
session 7.30 P.M.date and place above shown.
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and the roll was
called showing there were present trustees :V1.K.Parkinson;S.R.Jumper;
1i.A.Robinson;C.H.17ay and G.P.1711son.Absent:none.
Verious communications read and referred to proper order of business.
Unfinished Business:There was then read objections to confirmation
of report of commission in the matter of opening Bay Avenue from
23rd to 30th streets along south side of P.F.ri'ght of way;the said
protest being made by various property owners located in the affec
district.
The following resolution oas then adopted on motion of trustee H.A.
Robinson seconded'by trustee G.P.'Nilson and carried by the following
roll call,Ayes:l7.K. Parkinson; S.R.Jumper;H.A.Robinson,C.H.Way and
G.F.'.'Iilson.Noos None.®bsent none.
Resolution fixing time for hearing protests.
17hereas,certain persons have,within the'time allowed by baw,and the
fixed in the notice of the slag 'clerk of the city of Newport Beach,
filed with the said clerk their objections in writing to the confirm:
by the city council of the city,of Newport Beachof the report of the
commissioners in the nattor of the opening and extending off Bay Ave,
a public street in the city of Newport Beach,from the point of its
present terminuc on the westerly line of 23rd street through to the
easterly line of 30th street in said city; and
Whereas :this being the next meeting of the city council of the city
of Newport Beach after the dray fixed in said notice;and
;7hereas;the clerk of the city of Newport Beach has,on this day, at
the meeting of the city council of said city laid said objections in
writing before said city council;
No,; therefore be it resolved,that Elonday,the 26th day od Apri1,1915
at the hour of seven thirty o'clock P.M.of that day at the council
chamber of the city council of the city og Newport Beach,in the city
hall at the city of Newport Beach,be,and the samo is hereby fixod as
the time and place for hearing said objections;and the clerk of the
city of Newport Beach is directed to notify the persons making said
objections by depositing a notice of the time and place of hearing
said objections,in writing,hereby fixed,in the post- office of the
city of Newport Beaeh,postage paid,addressed to each such objector.
Demands §924 to 929 inclusive approved by the finance committee were
presented,allowed and warrents ordered drawn on motion of trustee
C.H.17ay,seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and carried.
New Business: The street committee were instructed to arrange such
parking space for automobiles as could be fixed without interferring
with traffic on streets.
Moved by trustee H.A.Robinson that 4100.00 be placed in the hands of
Lew H.Wallace to be expended in publicity of the harbor project.No
second.
Moved by trustee C.H.Way seconded by trustee H.A.Robinson and
carried that the city celebrate the completion of the street lighti
system and the putting of the same into service,date for same to be
May first,1915.
Moved by trustee S.R.Jumper that the city appropriate 200.00 for
music for the proposed celebration,seconded by trustee G.P.7111son
and carried.
Moved by trustee S.R.Iumper
carried that adjournment be
