City Ha11,Newport Beach,Calif.November 15th,1915.
The Board of Trustees of the city of Newport Beach met in adjourned
seseion 7.30 P.M.date and place above named.
President Parkinson called the meeting to order and the roll call
showed there were present trustees:'V.K. Parkinson ,S.R.Jutnper,H.A.Robinson,
C.H.'JVay and G.P.Nilson.Absent;none.
The committee appointed to purchase pipe for water department made
report stating that purchase had been made of.the H.R.%ynton Co of
Los Angeles and that delivery would be made in about three weeks.
Report 9ccepted and filed.
Engineers Funks report on shortage in street lamp post bases was
referred to city attorney Bishop on motion of trustee H.A.Robinson,
seconded by trustee S.R.Jumper,and carried with instructions to
commence action against the proper parties for restitution to the
city as shown to be due by report.
New- Business:Letter from Vernon R..Churchill,of Berkeley.proteating
against asses ment of lot 4 block 42 third addition to city of
Newport Beach was referred tc clerk for answer.
Ordinance #117 was presented,being an ordinance of the city of
Newport Beach providing for the submission to the qualified voters
of said city the proposition of incurri.!g a bonded debt by the city
of Newport Beach in the sum of 30,000.00 to acquire and construct
a municipal gas distributing system in and for said city;the ordinance
„as read for the first time and considered,and on motion of trustee
S.R.Jupr,seconded by trustee C.H.Way,and carried,was referred to the
city attorney with instructions to put the same in proper form.
A map was presented by F.W.Harding reploting a certain piece of land,
at the eastern end of Balboa.Map was referred to city attorney
Bishop to report as to requirements of such documents when offered ,
for approval.
Marshal Porter was instructed to secure new stove for the Council
chamber.
Ordinance #r - -- being anx ordinance of the city of Newport Beach
adopting certain specifications for the construction pf side- walks,
curbs,crosswalks and surfacing of streets was presented and read for
the first time and on motion of trustee S.R.Jumper,seconded by
trustee C.H.Way and carried was passed to second reading.
Moved by trustee S.R.Jumper,seconded by trustee G.P.Wilson and
carried that adjournment be taken to 7.30 P.M.Monday,November 22nd,
1915.Adjourned.
