Leung, City Manager Laura Detweiler, Recreation and Senior Services Director Matt Chong, Budget Analyst J i July 9, 2019 Grant Funding for Newport Beach Restaurant Week FY 2019-20 At its June 25, 2019, meeting, the City Council approved the award of special event funding for 17 Community and Charitable events and six Signature events in Fiscal Year 2019-20. The Community and Charitable events receive funding in the form of a "credit" toward City related fees. The Signature events are required to enter into a grant agreement with the City. The agreement includes agreed upon performance measurements, which the event organizer has to report on after the event's conclusion. The Newport Beach Restaurant Association Business Improvement District (LABRA BID) received $9,000 in funding for its 2020 Restaurant Week event under the Signature Event category. Since the NBRA BID is a part of the City and not a separate entity (unlike the other grant recipients), staff does not see a need to enter into an agreement for this event. The event performance measurements were submitted as a part of the application process and reporting will be required upon event completion. For the last eight years, an agreement was not required to process the grant funding for the NBRA BID. If you agree that we should follow the same process for the 2020 Newport Beach Restaurant Week event, please sign below for processing the payment authorization. — 41- 4 Ap ro/('ed by Grace K.
