Pool and or Spa Noise report for residence at 1918 Dover Dr., Newport Beach, CA
Dear Homeowner:
At about 11:50 a.m. Monday, January 13, 20201 measured the pool and or spa equipment
noise at your nearest neighbor's residence to test for compliance with the Newport Beach noise
regulation (10.26.025).
Newport Beach Residential Noise Standard
For Noise Zone 1 (residential) the N. B. regulation's daytime noise level standard (maximum
noise level from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.) is 55 dBA— corrected for ambient noise. The nighttime noise
standard (max noise level from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.) is 50 dBA. The measurement is corrected for
ambient noise and rounded to the nearest decibel as shown below.
I am pleased to report that measured pool and or spa apparatus noise meets the Newport
Beach noise standard for 24-hour use. Pertinent details of my findings are reported below.

The currently installed pool and or spa apparatus noise of 46 dBA meets the Newport Beach
noise code for both "daytime" use (7 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and "nighttime" use (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.),
since the noise corrected for ambient does not exceed 50 dBA.
