A summary of the construction cost is as follows: Original Bid Amount: $ 1,082,606.20 Actual Cost of Bid Items Constructed: $ 1,041,982.24 Total Change Orders: $ 25,376.00 Final Contract Cost: $ 1,067,358.24 The final contract cost was $1,067,358.24, approximately 1.4 percent lower than the original bid amount. This cost decrease was primarily due to removing the police station parking lot seal coat work due to conflicts with upcoming construction plans. The original schedule was extended a bit when the City postponed slurry seal activities in Corona del Mar this past May and June due to concerns that many residents were staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic and parking enforcement was suspended. This work in Corona del Mar by the Contractor later resumed on June 23rd when the City determined that the parking disruption would have less impact on residents then originally believed. 8-2 Slurry Seal Program — Notice of Completion for Contract No. 7681-1 (Project No. 20R04) November 24, 2020 Page 3 A summary of the project schedule milestones is as follows: Estimated Start of Construction per Annual Baseline Schedule 5/4/2020 Actual Start of Construction Per Notice to Proceed 5/11/2020 Extended Contract Completion Date Inclusive of Extra Work 10/13/2020 Actual Substantial Construction Completion Date 10/9/2020 This year's slurry seal program began during the COVID-19 pandemic.
