Hello City Council and Mr. Blom,
I have long wondered why this 70s style dilapidated sign is allowed to display private messages on public
property. Does the BIIA pay a license fee for the privilege? There is no HOA that runs with the land on Balboa
Island, as I imagine you know. Not to mention the sign seems to always parrot a left-leaning talking point.
Can you put up a disclaimer next to it that says: "The BIIA is purely a voluntary organization, and has no
jurisdiction over property or residences on Balboa Island"
Otherwise, I think it gives the impression that the BIIA has authority to dictate conditions.
