TITLE: Local Coastal Program Amendment related to Restricting Short Term
Lodging on Newport Island Title 21 (PA2020-326)
ABSTRACT:
This item has been removed from the agenda to allow staff additional time to consider
concerns raised by California Coastal Commission staff and make any necessary
revisions to the amendment. Once an update to the amendment has been completed,
staff will bring the item back to a future City Council meeting for their consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and file.
FUNDING REQUIREMENTS:
There is no fiscal impact related to this item.
NOTICING:
Notice of this hearing was published in the Daily Pilot, mailed to all Newport Island
property owners and owners of property within 300 feet of the boundaries of Newport
Island (excluding intervening rights-of-way and waterways), and posted on the
15 properties that currently maintain a short-term lodging permit on Newport Island, at
least 10 days before the scheduled meeting. A notice of cancellation has been mailed to
all recipients and new notice will be provided when this matter is brought back to the City
Council at a future meeting.
