Patterson Civil Engineer 200 Via Cordova Lido Isle Newport Beach, California Re: Agreement for engineering services in connection with the study of the tidelands in Lower Newport Bay Dear Mr. Patterson: The City Council has authorized me to accept your proposal to provide the following engineering services: (1) Preparation of a map of Lower Newport Bay showing the relationship between the line of ordinary high tide as it existed in a state of nature and the presently existing line of ordinary high tide. (2) A report of all major developments affecting owner- ship of lands bordering on Lower Newport Bay. In compensation for the aforesaid services, City agrees to pay you for your actual time and expenses in accordance with the schedule set forth below, but the maximum total of fees and expenses, includ- ing any consultants employed to assist you, shall not exceed the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000). All fees and expenses shall be payable on a monthly basis. You are authorized to engage the firm of Raub, Bein, Frost & Associates, engineers and surveyors, to assist you in performing the services described above subject to the prior approval of the Public Works Director as to specific work assignments to be performed by them. Schedule of Fees For R. L. Patterson: $20.00 per hour for Engineering. $15.00 per hour for research of records. For Raub, Bein, Frost & Associates: $20.00 per hour for Engineering. $15.00 per hour for Supervision, Design pd Conference. 5. 0 per hour for calculations made using y .. . • To: Mr. R. L. The City will reimburse you for the actual cost of out -of- pocket expenses, including, but not limited to, public transportation, personal auto mileage at Ten Cents ($.10) per mile, meals, lodg- ing, long distance telephone and telegraph, and cost of dupli- cating documents, subject to the approval of the Public Works Director. The prior approval of the Public Works Director shall be obtained for any single item of expense in excess of Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00). It is understood that you will try to complete the work called for and submit your written report within a period of approximately four (4) months from the date of execution of this agreement.
