CITY COUNCIL CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER February 10, 1966 FROM: City Manager SUBJECT: MARINAPARK ATTENDANT 40 COUNCIL: DIS ?OSITIS: FILE GA By motion authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract for the services of a Marinapark attendant for $100 per month. Under the present arrangement the Marinapark attendant has had the free use of a City owned trailer, including utilities, in exchange for being on duty from 5 p.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Monday during each weekend and also being available for each holiday. The attendant has received $200 a year under a contract for duties performed while the Marinapark manager was on vacation. Past experience indicates difficulty in finding a satisfactory person who will stay on under these conditions and there is a vacancy at the present time. It is proposed that in addition to being on call during weekends, the attendant work 8 hours each Saturday cleaning the parking area, driveway, garages and utility building and that he be paid an additional $100 per month for these services. Hopefully, this arrangement will be attractive to a mature and stable person, possible someone who is on social security. No additional funds will be necessary inasmuch as the Senior Groundsman Gardener has requested a reduction in work week to 32 hours thus releasing enough funds which can be transferred to pay the contract for the attendant.
