HAMILL, hereinafter 611referred to as "Consultant "; 7 11 RECITALS 81 A. On February 14, 1967, the City Council considered a 9 request from the City's Board of Library Trustees to authorize the 1011employment of a library consultant to assist the Board in preparing 11 recommendations for the future expansion of the City's library 12 system and the City Council has given its approval to said request. 1311 B. Consultant is a nationally recognized expert on 14 library planning and has submitted a proposal to the City to perform 15 said services which the City wishes to accept; 16 NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed as follows: 17 1. Scope of Services. Consultant agrees to furnish 18 advice to the City's Board of Library Trustees on the following 19 11 matters: 20 (a) Should the proposed Civic Center complex house 21 a library and, if so, should it be a branch or a main library? 22 (b) If a library facility should be constructed in 23 the proposed Civic Center complex, what effect would this have 24 on the present Corona del Mar branch library? 25 (c) In view of the eastward expansion of the City, 26 what additional library facilities should be included in the 27 City's planning for the future? 28 Consultant agrees to meet with the Board of Library 29 Trustees for purposes of discussing his recommendations at such 30 times as are mutually convenient to Consultant and the Board. 31 2. Time for Performance. Compensa__ _t %, City agrees to pay Consultant for his services at the rate of $15 per hour and to reimburse "$onsultant fox his reasonable out -o €- pocket expenses incurred in connection with the performance of said services, including reimbursement for auto- mobile travel at the rate of 10¢ per mile. The total expenditure for Consultant's services including his incidental expenses shall not exceed the sum of $1,000 unless a larger amount shall be subse- quently approved by the City Council. City shall pay Consultant on the basis of itemized statements to be submitted periodically by Consultant setting forth the time spent on said services and the expenses he has incurred during the period covered by each state- ment.
