HomeMy WebLinkAboutC-1227 - Legal publication 1969-70I 0 TO: FINANCE DIRECTOR FROM: City Clerk SUBJECT: Contract No. 1227 Description of Contract p„hj;rAtinn nfle8al not3o" Authorized by Resolution No. 7003 , adopted on 6 -9 -69 Effective date of Contract 7 -1 -69 Contract with NWdPqVt Hubw RASign Address Amount of Contract on one -cola m width in 9 -point type cn 10 -point body, 7.2 lines to the inch. 12"'MA - za�� City Cle c S 0 00 CONTRACT rT�l LlJ C; - 12 Z THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this j5 :r day of a7 yk e , 1969) by and between the CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, hereinafter referred to as "City ", and THE NEWPORT HARBOR ENSIGN, hereinafter referred to as "Newspaper ": WHEREAS, Section 419 of the City Charter requires the City Council prior to the beginning of each fiscal year to publish a notice inviting bids and to contract for the publica- tion of all legal notices or other matter required to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City during the ensuing fiscal year; and WHEREAS, said notice was published and bids were received in accordance therewith; and WHEREAS, the City Council upon analysis of the bids received has made an award for the publication as aforesaid in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1969; and WHEREAS, Newspaper was the successful bidder for said publication; NOW, THEREFORE, the parties agree: 1. Newspaper agrees to publish all legal notices of City and other matter required to be published for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1969. The rates for said publication are as follows, which are not in excess of the customary rates charged by Newspaper for the publication of legal notices of a private character: $1.00 per column inch, based on one - column width in 9 -point type on 10 -point body, 7.2 lines to the inch. -1- OR of s 00 W 2. City agrees to submit to Newspaper all legal notices and other matter required to be published during said fiscal year. 3. City agrees to pay Newspaper for said publication in accordance with the schedule hereinabove set out. 4. In the event that Newspaper for any reason is unable to make timely publication of any legal notice or other matter required to be published during the term of this contract, City may submit such matter to any other newspaper or newspapers qualified to publish such matters for the City during the term hereof. Such determination shall be at the discretion of the City. 5. Fifteen (15) copies of each issue of the official newspaper must be furnished to City on the date of publication. 6. Affidavits of Publication for every item published will be furnished to City with no additional charge.
