RESOLUTION NO. 7 4 2 0
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING PURCHASES
OF CERTAIN..ITEMS TO.BE..MADE FOR THE CITY BY
THE PURCHASING AGENT OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
WHEREAS, it is permissible under. Sections 51301, et
seq., of the Government Code of the State of California to
contract with the County to perform certain functions for the
City; and
WHEREAS, it appears that it is possible to acquire
certain items consistent wi.th..the City's.centralized purchasing
system at a substantially lower coat by having them.purchased
by the County; and
WHEREAS, it is, therefore, the desire of the City
Council to contract with the County for the County Purchasing
Agent to purchase certain items for the City under the
following conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Newport Beach hereby agrees with the County.of Orange that
the Purchasing Agent for the County shall purchase.for the
City at the request of the City Manager of the City of Newport
Beach gasoline, oil, and such other items..-regularly purchased
by the County as may be designated.from time to time by the
City Manager.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the.c ty hereby agrees
to pay the expenses and costs incurred by the County in per-
forming the services for the City within 15 days after being
billed for the same, provided such expenses and costs incurred
in any month are billed to the City prior to the end of the
following month.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, upon the approval of
the terms of this resolution by the Orange County Board of
Supervisors, it shall constitute.a contract-between the City
and the County, which said contract shall.have a term of five
(5) years from the date of approval and.shall_.be subject to
termination by either party upon.giving written notice to the
other party one year prior to the date o£_termination.

RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
June 1, 1971
On motion of Supervisor Phillips, duly seconded and carried, the
following Resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has established a Cooperative
Purchasing Program whereby the County, various districts governed by
this Board, cities and other districts within the County can achieve
certain cost savings; and
WHEREAS, the County has invited the participation of cities and
districts within the County in said program;_ and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach has requested to partipate
in said program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent is hereby
authorized and directed to act as the Purchasing Agent for the City of
Newport Beach on the terms set forth in Resolution No. 7420 of the
City Council.. of the City of Newport Beach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution and said Resolution No.
7420 of the City of Newport Beach shall constitute an Agreement between
the County of Orange and the City of Newport Beach for a term of five
(5) years and shall be subject to termination by either party upon
giving written notice to the other party one year prior to the date
of termination.
