Re: Proposal to provide the City with
supplemental legal services
Dear Mr. Mayor and Members of the City Council:
I am willing to provide the City with supplemental legal
services during the period of the recruitment for the City
Attorney position. The level of service would be dependent
upon your determination of the need.
There are a number of proposed ordinances which are at the
research and drafting stage, which sinuld be completed. They
include: Revision of the subdivision ordinance, an ordinance
prohibiting topless and bottomless entertainment, and an
ordinance phasing out billboards.
In addition, there are many pending matters which I have
been handling which are unfamiliar to Mr. O'Neil because of
the division of the office workload. I can provide him with
consultation and advice which will enable him to keep abreast
of the workload.
My services would be at my standard hourly fee of $50. It
is suggested that the Council establish a maximum monthly
billing of $800. Any charges beyond that amount would not
be incurred without your prior approval.
