FUNDING AGREEMENT, STAGES 4B 6 54
FEDERAL BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROJECT
BETWEEN
COUNTY OF ORANGE AND CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
fHiS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 1f7_11 day of
1972, oy and between the COUNTY OF ORANGE, a political subdivision of the State
of California, hereinafter called "COUNTY" and the CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, a
oi;,Cipal corporation, hereinafter called "CITY ".
WHEREAS, Congress has by the enactment of Public Law 874, 87th Co:�gress,
,uu,p;ed and authorized a beach erosion control project which extends from
Anaheim Bay Harbor to the West Jetty of Newport Beach Harbor in Orange County;
and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid project is financed on the following basis:
Federal Government 67%
State of California (Department of
Navigation and Ocean Development) 1620/
Shoreline Owners both public and
private, including State Division
of Beaches and Parks 1 L
100%
and
WHEREAS, the COUNTY has advanced $163,670 as the funding for all shoreline
owners for Stages 413 & 5 construction not including State Division of Beaches
and Parks; and
WHEREAS, the shoreline owners' share of the cost for Stages 4B & 5 construc-
;:o;, based on the formula used for Phase 1 is as follows:

Surfside Colony, Ltd,
Public beach owners: City of Newport Beach
City of Huntington Beach
County (Sunset Beach)

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A FUNDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH AND.THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR STAGES 4B
AND 5 OF THE FEDERAL BEACH EROSION CONTROL
PROJECT
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement between the
City of Newport Beach and the County of Orange in connection with
funding of Stages 4B and 5 of the Federal beach erosion control
project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions of said funding agreement and found them to be fair
and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BEFIT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that said funding agreement above
described is approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach.
