Wynn City Manager City of Newport Beach Subject: Proposal to perform ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES for the JAMBOREE ROAD POLICE FACILITY Dear Mr. Wynn: We wish to thank you for this opportunity to submit our proposal to perform the subject A & E Services. We are very proud to be considered for such an important municipal project and we look forward, with pleasure, to the opportunity to work with the City of Newport Beach. Our proposal includes a Project Description, Scope of Work, Schedule of Fees and a Project Schedule. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A new police facility for the City of Newport Beach to be located on a two and one half (2.5) acre parcel of land located at the inter- section of Jamboree Road and Santa Barbara Drive. The site is gene- rally flat and sloping upward to the southeast, away from Jamboree Road. The project budget is One million dollars ($1,000,000.00) which in- cludes land cost, building construction cost, on site improvements and A & E fees for all items contained in the scope of work. Not included in the project budget are off site improvements. SCOPE OF WORK: The proposed A & E Services will include complete architectural and engineering design, drawings, calculations and specifications normal to and ordinarily found in connection with such a construction project. [BOX EF o IRVINE, CALIFORNIA 92664 • (714) 546 -7091 • August 14, 1972 Page Four Proposal to perform ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES SCOPE OF WORK (continued): Services in addition to the scope of work as outlined, herein above, shall be performed by the Architect and /or his consultants at a rate per hour to be determined as two and one half (2.5) times direct personnel payroll plus cost of materials for the work assigned. All such additional services will 'be billed on a monthly basis and are due and payable within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of billing. Excluded from the scope of work will be Soil testing and engineering On site improvements Off site improvements And all work normal to a scope of work under the heading of "Civil Engineering ". SCHEDULE OF FEES: We propose to perform the Elements of the Service as outlined in the scope of work for a FIXED SUM of Fifty five thousand Five hundred dollars ($55,500.00). BOX BF n IRVINE, CALIFORNIA 92664 (714) 546-7091 -t 0 August 14, 1972 Proposal to perform ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES Page Five TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT: It is agreed that either party, Owner or Architect, may terminate this agreement upon seven (7) days written notice to the other party should the other party fail to perform in accordance with the terms of the agreement through no fault of the party seeking to terminate. It is further agreed that the Architect shall be paid the full amount of the fees due him at the time of termination, which will be 100% of each completed phase of work and an appropriate percentage of the phase then in effect plus any approved additional services. It is further agreed that in the event the construction contract bids for the subject project, as outlined in the PROJECT DESCRIPTION, exceed the project budget the Architect will make any and all necessary revisions to the plans and specifications required to bring the con- struction contract bids within the approved budget and that such revisions will be accomplished within sixty (60) calendar days of the conclusion of BID REVIEW PERIOD shown in the PROJECT SCHEDULE.
