JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
Pursuant to Title 1, Division 7, Chapter 5, of the
Government Code of the State of California (Sections 6500 through
6513), this Joint Powers Agreement is made and entered into this
/{ D day of pJ�iy� �q 19741, by and between the CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH; a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred
to as "City," and the NEWPORT -MESA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT, here-
inafter referred to as "District;"
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, District owns and maintains eight (8) tennis
courts located on the campus at Corona del Mar High School; and
WHEREAS, City shares the use of these courts with
District, in connection with the City- sponsored tennis instruction
programs; and
and
WHEREAS, said tennis courts are in need of resurfacing;
WHEREAS, City believes it would be appropriate to parti-
cipate in contributing one -half of the costs of resurfacing said
tennis courts;
NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION of these premises, it
is hereby agreed by and between the parties hereto as follows:
1. City will control and award the contract for the
resurfacing of eight (8) tennis courts located on the Corona del
Mar High School campus, and pay an amount up to Six Thousand and
no /100 Dollars ($6,000.00) for the project;

2. District agrees to reimburse City for one -half of
the costs incurred from the resurfacing project, up to a total
amount of Three Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($3,000.00);
3. District agrees to grant permission to City and
its employees or agents to enter upon the grounds of Corona del
Mar High School for the purpose of resurfacing the tennis courts.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties hereto have executed
this agreement as of the day and year first above written.

RESOLUTION NO. 8414
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AND THE NEWPORT -MESA UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR RESURFACING OF CORONA DEL
MAR'HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS COURTS
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach a certain joint powers agreement
between the City of Newport Beach and the Newport -Mesa Unified
School District to provide for equal sharing of costs incurred
in resurfacing eight tennis courts located at Corona del Mar
High School; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the terms
and conditions of said joint powers agreement and found them
to be fair and equitable, and in the best interests of the
City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach that said joint powers agreement.
above described is approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach.
