ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEERING SERVICES ?-
Dear Chief Glavas:
Persuant to a request from Lt. Kelson McDaniel we submit this
proposal to perform A & E services in connection with the
final development of the Small Arms Practice Range within
the Jamboree Road Police Facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A small arms training and practice range to be constructed
within the existing Jamboree Road Police Facility. Space
for the range and certain electrical and mechanical equipment
and spaces for same were provided in the basic construction.
The project budget is Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00),
which includes construction and equipment costs and all
A & E fees.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The proposed A & E services will include complete architectural,
structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design,
drawings, calculations and specifications for all building
construction and finishing. Also included in the A & E scope
of work is engineering, design and detailing for noise control
and abatement. Excluded from the scope of work will be all
engineering, design and detailing for the manufacture or con-
struction of range equipment, however, coordination of installa-
tion and required support facilities will be provided in our
scope of work.

It is agreed that either party, Owner or Architect, may
terminate this agreement upon seven (7) days written notice
to the other party should the other party fail to perform in
accordance with the terms of the agreement through no fault
of the party seeking to terminate. It is further agreed
that the Architect shall be paid the full amount due him at
the time of termination, which will be 100'/0 of each completed
phase of work and an appropriate percentage of the phase then
in effect plus any approved additional services.

This concludes our proposal to perform ARCHITECTURAL AND
ENGINEERING SERVICES for the SMALL ARMS RANGE. The appropriate
signatures, affixed to this proposal, will'signify acceptance
of the terms of the proposal and will be the basis of agree-
ment upon which we are prepared to begin work.
We wish to thank you for this opportunity to be of service to
the City of Newport Beach.

I have reviewed the attached agreement prepared by Jim Robinson
to perform certain architectural and engineering services in connec-
tion with the final development of the Small Arms Practice Range
located within the new Jamboree Road Police Facility. The contract
is satisfactory as to form, but will require acceptance by the
City Manager pursuant to Council Policy F -14, a copy of which is
attached for your information.
