SUBJECT: City of Newport Beach Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance
To Whom It May Concern:
Enclosed please find the City of Newport Beach’s adopted ordinances revising
regulations pertaining to Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) and Junior Accessory Dwelling
Units (JADU). The City Council adopted Ordinance Nos. 2022-5 and 2022-6 on March 8,
2022. Ordinance No. 2022-5 amends the Zoning Code regulations regulating ADUs and
JADUs Citywide. Ordinance No. 2022-6 amends the Implementation Plan of the Local
Coastal Program regulating ADUs and JADUS within the Coastal Zone.
