A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING
AN AMENDMENT TO TITLE 20 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO THE
LICENCING OF HORSES WITHIN THE
RESIDENTIAL EQUESTRIAN DISTRICT OF THE
SANTA ANA HEIGHTS SPECIFIC PLAN DISTRICT
CA2009 -002 (PA2009 -081)
WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code authorizes the
Planning Commission to adopt a resolution initiating amendments to the Zoning
Code of the City of Newport Beach; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission seeks to amend the Zoning Code to
eliminate ambiguity surrounding the term "use permit' as it pertains to obtaining a
Recreational Horse License in the Residential Equestrian District of the Santa Ana
Heights Specific Plan District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of
the City of Newport Beach hereby initiates an amendment to Title 20 of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code to amend Zoning Code Chapter 20.44 (Specific
Plan District #7, Santa Ana Heights) to remove the term "use permit' and replace
it with the phrase 'Recreational Horse License," where appropriate and
necessary.
