A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH INITIATING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CHAPTER
20.42 (MARINER'S MILE) REGARDING LANDSCAPE STANDARDS.
WHEREAS, existing landscape standards contained within Chapter 20.42
(Mariner's Mile) were adopted in 2000; and,
WHEREAS, the standards provides no flexibility in the species of hedge plantings
and palm trees; and
WHEREAS, flexibility in the landscape standards may be desirable in order to best
select a species for a given location and application; and,
WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Municipal Code requires that any proposed amendment
to a the Zoning Code be initiated by the adoption of a resolution of intention by the
Planning Commission or City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the
City of Newport Beach hereby initiates an amendment to the Chapter 20.42 (Mariner's
Mile) to consider possible amendments to landscape standards.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 20'' DAY OF MAY, 2004.
