County aforesaid; I am over the age of eighteen years,
and not a party to or interested in the above - entitled
matter. I am the principal clerk of the printer of the
Newport Harbor Ensign newspaper of general circula-

SUBJECT: BIG CANYON RESERVOIR RESTORATION (C -2173)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Approve the plans and specifications.
2. Authorize the City Clerk to advertise for bids to be
opened at 10:30 A.M. on September 11, 1980.
DISCUSSION:
This project provides for the cement slurry coating of
approximately 480,000 square feet of asphalt pavement and 9,000 lineal
feet of crack sealing of the Big Canyon Reservoir lining. The slurry
coating will protect the deteriorated asphaltic concrete reservoir
lining and delay its eventual replacement.
The estimated cost of the work is $38,000. Funds in the
amount of $40,000 are available in the current budget for "Slurry
seal reservoir lining and access roads," Account No. 50- 9297 -153.
The plans and specifications were prepared by the Public
Works Department with the cooperation of the City of Los Angeles Depart-
ment of Water and Power. The work will be performed this November, when
the Utilities Department intends to deplete the reservoir for routine
cleaning.
