Preservation of Marine Related Activities and
Businesses in Newport Harbor
OCTOBER 12TH, 2016
Ensuring the Long Term Welfare of Newport Harbor
Objective:
Collaborate with the Marine Committee of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce in
the development of strategy recommendations to support the preservation of water-
dependent commercial and recreational activities as prescribed in the Harbor Area
Management Plan and the Harbor and Bay Element of the General Plan.

•Reviewed previous documents as they related to this objective
•Met with David Beek and Chandler Bell from the Newport Beach Chamber Marine Committee
•Met with additional constituents and harbor stakeholders
•Prepared the list of:
1) Critical waterfront businesses/services and the
2) Elements of a successful harbor
3) Identified those appropriate for future planning on Mariners Mile
