(5) The site installation complies with the following: a. The required irrigation system has been installed according to approved plans and specifications and if applicable, any prior approved irrigation system alternatives. X Yes No b. Sprinklers comply with ASABE/ICC 802-2014 Landscape Irrigation Sprinkler & Emitter Standard. X Yes _ No (6) The information I have provided in this Landscape Installation Certificate of Completion is true and correct and is hereby submitted in compliance with the City of Newport Beach Design Standards for Implementation of the City of Newport Beach Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance. 33 Effective irrigation system design, installation and maintenance are important. Sprinklers should serve only the required turf areas and not spray on buildings, fences or non -landscaped areas. Excess water on sidewalks, pavement and block walls causes damage, increases liability and wastes water. Watering should be done before sunrise to reduce evaporation losses. Turf areas, planters, trees and shrubs should be watered separately to meet varying water needs. Always irrigate the entire depth and width of the root zone regardless of the time of year. Automatic times and moisture sensors make it easier to manage irrigations. Once or twice a year, water twice as long to leach out salts and buildup in our soils. As per your request, we evaluated the irrigation systems in accordance with the California Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (MWELO). SUMMARY This audit was inspect the overall site irrigation systems within the limits of construction. The irrigation systems are new systems utilizing POTABLE water. IRRIGATION PLANS: Each hydrozone identified on the plans were executed in the field, (Total valve qty. 5). Each system layout, components and functionality have met all the requirements of the Irrigation Plans. MWELO: The California Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance has been adopted by the City as the standard for new construction and irrigation installations based on A131881. UNIFORMITY: Since the dripline is subterranean and the planting material is already installed and would be damaged if the dripline was unearthed, a drip catch can test was not performed. In lieu of the catch can test, the standard 90% efficiency for pressure compensating drip & low -flow irrigation per the Irrigation Association's Landscape Irrigation Auditor, 3rd edition book was used for the report. Shrub ZONES / STATION Al-A5 • Irrigated Area: Zones separated based on Full sun South/ West side of project • Plant Material: Shrubs - Low water • Plant Condition: Traditional • Microclimate: Full Sun • Soil Category: Silty Clay Loam • Root Depth: Approximately 2-10" • Slope: Overall site 2% to 2:1 at back of property. • Compaction: yes • Runoff: No runoff observed • Standing Water: None • Hydrozone Separation: Yes • Mulch in Beds: Yes • Pressure Regulation: Not required / Isolation valve installed per plan • Controller: Hunter Pro-C controller w/ Solar Sync. • Valves: Install per plans ( 2 west front / 3 west rear) • Emitter Type: Netafim TLHCVXR5-12 w/ Techline fittings (.53 gph @ 12" o.c row spacing @ 12" o.c.) • Max Flow: 9.0 GPM • Distribution Uniformity:.90 • Precipitation Rate: 0.6 Punch list Items: 05/13/2022 (Compliance based on the following corrects during the maintenance period) • Waterproof connections required to al wire connections. • Contractor to provide owner with controller charts and Record Drawings. Zone Audit Conclusion: PASS , project IS within compliance to begin maintenance. The irrigation systems were evaluated and based on the Irrigation Association Audit rules/guidelines and MWELO requirements. The MWELO is a calculation noted on your landscape construction documents. This state required calculation defines landscape irrigation estimated and maximum water used for the landscape. The state of California is currently in a government declared drought and water use restrictions are being enforced statewide. It is the responsibility of the Homeowner (Person maintaining the landscape), to determine when a plant material is established, and the irrigation schedule should be adjusted as needed to sustain the plant while being water efficient.
