DISCUSSION: This project provides for the construction of two portland cement concrete basketball courts. Each court installation includes perimeter sidewalks, striping and basket posts, backboards, rims and chain nets. Plans and specifications for the work have been prepared by the Public Works Department. The estimate of construction cost is $39,000 complete. Ade- quate funds have been appropriated in the current budget to award this amount. A Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact has been prepared by the Public Works Department and approved by the Environmental Affairs Committee for the West Newport Park court. A Notice of Determination has been filed with the County Clerk and published in local newspapers. A Coastal Development Permit has been requested and will be obtained prior to award. Inasmuch as the Buffalo Hills Park court is a replacement, environ- mental documentation and permits are unnecessary. All work is to be completed by February 24, 1984. Benjamin B.
