1.0 Introduction
At the request of MC Pools, Inc., Yanchar Design & Consulting Group has
completed field measurements and an acoustical analysis of the pool equipment
located at 19 Vincennes, Newport Beach, CA.
2.0 Project Description
The property is a single-family residence. The pool equipment is located
approximately 3 feet from the property line to the east. The nearest residential
property to the east is also a single-family residence. The properties are
separated by a 6-foot-high CMU wall.
The City of Newport Beach requires a sound test by an acoustical engineer is
required to demonstrate that the noise level from the pool or spa pump is less
than 55 dBA at the property line. NBMC10.26. 025.

2.0 Field Measurements
Measurements were made at the site on June 13, 2023 to determine the sound
level of the pool equipment. The ambient noise level at the property was
dominated by the birds and distant aircraft overflights.
The sound level of the pool equipment measured at the property line was
53.8 dBA. Therefore, the equipment is in compliance with the requirements of
the City of Newport Beach Municipal Code.
A Soft dB Piccolo -II Integrating Sound Level Meter, Serial Number
P0219050803 and CEL Instruments Model CEL-284/2 Calibrator, Serial Number
4/09023134, were used for the measurements.
