Date: June 23, 2023 Project Address: 3702 Park Lane, Newport Beach, CA File No. 8562-10 Subject: Site observations of patio wall footing excavations Permit No. X2021-1556 Arrived on site this morning to observe the footing excavations for the proposed patio wall at the request of the general contractor (Clayton Builders). The contractor had opened up the patio wall footing excavations in the front yard prior to my arrival on site. The excavations extended a minimum of 18 inches below the adjacent grade into the engineered fill, as anticipated. The fill soils consist of a light brown gray slightly silty sand. The soils were observed to be firm and moist. The fill soils in the footing excavations yielded less than 2 inches when probed under weight. Based upon our observations, it is our opinion that, from a geotechnical standpoint, the foundation excavations for the patio wall are considered suitable for the installation of steel reinforcement and concrete.
