F:\Users\PLN\Shared\Official Documents\Design Guidelines Rev: 08-26-2016 Chapter 14.17 Water-Efficient Landscape Ordinance Checklist of Applicability/Submittal Requirements Chapter 14.17 (Water-Efficient Landscape Ordinance) promotes the design, installation, and maintenance of landscaping in a manner that conserves regional wate r resources by ensuring that landscaping projects are not unduly water-needy and that irrigation systems are appropriately implemented to minimize water waste. The City’s ordinance is consistent with the requirements mandated by State Law. Refer to the Landscape Design Standards for comprehensive information about the submittal requirements and copies of the appendices referenced below: I. Applicability  Landscape Documentation Package Required  > 500 square feet of new landscaping  > 2,500 square feet of rehabilitated landscaping  Prescriptive Compliance Option (qualifying projects include <2500 square feet of new landscaping)  Exempt  Rehabilitated Project- projects that consist of replacement plantings with lower water needs and the irrigation system is designed, operable, and programmed to comply with City water conservation regulations . Letter or documentation from a Licensed Professional required.  Other: _________ Note: See Chapter 14.17 for complete applicability. II. Landscape Documentation Package – See Section 2 of Landscape Design Standards: (Preparation by a Licensed Professional is Required)  Project Information -including project name, date, address, parcel/lot number, total new/rehabilitated landscape area in square footage, water supply type, and project contact information (applicant and property owner).  Certification of Landscape Design (Appendix B)  Maximum Applied Water Allowance (MAWA) and Estimated Applied Water Use (EAWU) Calculations (Appendix C and Appendix D)  Soil Management Report  Landscape Planting Plan (Landscape Design Plan)  Irrigation Design Plan with hydrozones identified  Grading Design Plan  Hold on final for submittal of Certification of Completion Package (see requirements below) Note: Refer to Landscape Design Standards for complete requirements F:\Users\PLN\Shared\Official Documents\Design Guidelines Rev: 08-26-2016 III. Prescriptive Compliance: (qualifying projects include <2,500 square feet of new or rehabilitated landscaping). Refer to Appendix H.  Plans –Landscape Plans must include planting plan and irrigation design plan.  Project Information -including project name, date, address, parcel/lot number, total new/rehabilitated landscape area in square footage, water supply type, and project contact information (applicant and property owner).  Confirmation project scope complies with the following:  Turf area does not exceed 25% of landscape planting area (prohibited on slope areas and parkways less than 10 feet wide)  75% of landscape area must be plated with climate adapted plants with an average WUCOLS plant factor of 0.3.  Compost at a rate of four cubic yards per 1,000 square feet to a depth of six inches  3-inch mulch layer applied to all planting areas (excluding turf areas)  Automatic irrigation controllers with manual shut-off valves  Statement, “I agree to comply with the requirements of the prescriptive compliance option to the MWELO).”  Hold on final for submittal of Certification of Completion Package (see requirements below) Notes:  Refer to Design standards and Appendix H for complete requirements.  Preparation by a Licensed Professional is not required for the Prescriptive Compliance Option.  Landscape projects not eligible for or using the Prescriptive Compliance Option are required to prepare a complete Landscape Documentation Package. IV. Certification of Completion Package: (Prior to Final)  Certificate of Installation (Appendix E)  Enrollment in an Audit Program (Choose One):  Third party certified landscape irrigation auditor; or  Enrollment in a regional or local water suppliers water conservation program (Suggested, MWDOC: http://www.waterprograms.com/wb)  Post-Installation Irrigation Schedule and Landscape/Irrigation Maintenance Schedule 1 of 6 X q X X X X X X X Yes X No X Yes No Yes X No Yes X No Yes X No x Yes No Yes X No X Yes No Yes X No Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance Irrigation Audit Project:Cambria Residence Controller Date:4/10/24 Anit-siphon valves are used for backflow protection Page Water Source Data and Equipment Verification Water Source:Potable Reclaimed Well Pond Address:31 Cambria Drive A Auditor:Wayne Graf City,State:Corona Del Mar, CA 92625 CLIA #41834 in.
