HomeMy WebLinkAbout416 - Manufacturing & Sale of IceE 0 E • ORDINANCE NO. 416 The City of Newport Beach, by mid through its City Council, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 92a of Ordinance No. 393 of the City of Newport Beach is hereby amend- ed to read as follows: "The rate of license for the op- eration or conducting of an ice manufacturing plant, or any busi- ness dealing in the sale of ice, either at wholesale or retail, is hereby fixed at $100.00 per an- num, and the rate of license for operating ice wagons, which are hereby construed to be vehicles operated, run or driven from house to house, or to business places, hotels, restaurants, lodging hous- es or apartment houses, within the city of Newport Beach, for the purpose of selling or delivering ice, shall be $100.00 per annum, for each person, firm or corpor- ation conducting or carrying on the business of selling or deliver- ing ice within the said city of Newport Beach, by means of ice Wagons, unless, however, such ice wagons are operated in connection with an ice manufacturing busi- ness which has already paid the annual license of $100.00." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in NEW - PORT NEWS, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, pub- lished and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, and this ordin- ance shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1st, 1933. The above and foregoing ordin- ance No. 416 was duly introduced at an adjourned regular meeting Of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, held on the 10th day of May, 1933, and the same was passed and adopted at a regu- lar meeting of said City Council held on the 5th day of June, 1933, by the following vote, to -wit: AYES, Councilmen: Gordon, Claire, Ellsworth, Garfield, Hilmer. NOES, Councilmen: None. ABSENT, Councilmen: None. The above and foregoing ordin• ance No. 416 is approved and sign- ed by me this 5th day of June, 1933.
