ORDINANCE NO. 858
AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 3257
OF THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE RELAT-
ING TO TRAFFIC REGULA-
TIONS.
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: Section 3257 of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code is
amended to read:
"SECTION 3257. Vehicles
on Sidewalks. No person shall
drive a vehicle upon any
sidewalk area or any park-
way except at a permanent
or temporary driveway; pro-
vided, however, that agents
or employees of the City act-
ing in the scope of their
agency or employment may
drive on sidewalks for the
purpose of providing munic-
ipal services."
SECTION 2: This Ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport Harbor Ensign, a news-
paper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be effective 30 days after
the date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City. of Newport
Beach held on the Sth day of
September, 1958 and was adopt-
ed on the 22nd day of September,
1958, by the following vote, to
wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: HART,
LORENZ, SOMERS, KINGSLEY,
ATKINSON, HIGBIE, STODDARD.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: NONE.
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: NONE
