HomeMy WebLinkAbout1637 - Volunteer Cat Identification Programs • is • ORDINANCE NO. 1637 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADDING CHAPTER 7.10 TO TITLE 7 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, ESTABLISHING A VOLUNTEER IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR CATS The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Chapter 7.10 is added to the Newport Beach Municipal Code to read: "CHAPTER 7.10 CATS Sections: 7.10.010 License Tag. 7.10.010 License Tag. Any person who harbors a cat of whatever sex or age may obtain an identification tag to be attached to the collar of the cat by paying a fee of Five Dollars ($5.00). Said identification tag will remain in effect and be valid during the lifetime of the cat. Any person who harbors a spayed or neutered cat can obtain an identification tag by paying a one time fee of Two Dollars and Fifty Cents ($2.50). The Police Department will maintain a cat owners registration file in order to permit the return of impounded cats having identification tags to the proper person." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
