ORDINANCE NO. 87 -5
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING CHAPTER 9.04 OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING A
SECTION TO FEES AND DELETING PROVISIONS IN THE
UNIFORM FIRE CODE.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1: The provisions of Section 9.04.270 is
hereby added to the Newport Beach Municipal Code to read as
follows:
9.04.270 Fees. The Newport Beach City
Council may establish, by resolution, a
schedule of fees to defray the costs
incurred by the City in carrying out the
duties, or performing the services,
required by the provisions of this
Chapter, or other state or local laws
pertaining to fire suppression, fire
prevention, or the storage, handling, use
or possession of hazardous materials or
waste.
Section 2: Section 9.04.240, shall be added to the
Newport Beach Municipal Code to read as follows:
9.04.240 Amendment to Appendix 1 -(a) of the Fire
Code:
Appendix 1(a) of the Fire Code, herein -
before adopted in Section 9.04.010, is
amended by deleting the provisions of
subsection 1 -(b).
Section 3: Section 9.04.250, shall be added to the
Newport Beach Municipal Code to read as follows:
9.04.250 Amendment to Appendix 1 -(b) of the Fire
Code:
Appendix 1 -(b) of the Fire Code herein -
before adopted in Section 9.04.010 is
amended by deleting the provisions in
subsection 2.1(e).
• Section 4: All other provisions of Chapter 9.04 shall
remain in full force and effect.

Section 5: The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this Ordinance. The City Clerk shall
cause the same to be published once in the official newspaper
within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
Section 6: This Ordinance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on
the 9th day of March, 1987, and adopted on the 23rd day of March,
1987, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEMBERS Cox, Hart, Maurer,
Plummer, Sansone, Strauss, Turner
NOES, COUNCILMEMBERS
ABSENT COUNCILMEMBERS
