AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 1.12.010 OF THE
• NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO
ADOPTION OF PENAL CODE.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1: The provisions of Section 1.12.010 of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
1.12.010. Chapter 5c of Penal Code Adopted by
Reference. Except as provided in this Chapter, the provisions of
Chapter 5c, Title 3, Part 2, of the Penal Code of the State of
California, as amended, are hereby adopted and made a part of
this Chapter as though fully set forth. The peace officer
employees of the City are hereby authorized to issue infraction
citations for violations of this Code as an alternative to their
existing authority to issue citations and arrest for
• misdemeanors,
Section 2: This Ordinance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on
the 22nd day of June , 1987, and adopted on the 13th day
of July , 1987, by the following vote, to -wit:
