ORDINANCE NO. 88- 32
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTIONS
20.80.090A, 20.81.090A AND 20.82.090A OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
PERTAINING TO EXPIRATION OF APPROVALS.
(PLANNING COMMISSION AMENDMENT NO. 667)
sThe City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby ordain as
follows:
Section 1: Section 20.80.090A of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
shall be amended to read as follows:
A. EXPIRATION. Any Zoning Permit or Use Permit granted in
accordance with the terms of this Title shall expire within twenty -four (24)
months from the date of approval unless a building permit has been issued
and construction has commenced prior to the expiration date. The Planning
Commission and the City Council may specify a different expiration date at
time of approval.
Section 2: Section 20.81.090A of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
shall be amended to read as follows:
A. EXPIRATION.
Any Modification
granted in
accordance
with
the
40 terms of this Title
shall expire within
twenty -four
(24) months
from
the
date of approval unless a building permit has been issued and construction
has commenced prior to the expiration date. The Modifications Committee may
specify a different expiration date at time of approval.
Section 3: Section 20.82.090A of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
shall be amended to read as follows:
A. EXPIRATION. Any Variance granted in accordance with the terms
of this Title shall expire within twenty -four (24) months from the date of
approval unless a Building Permit has been issued and construction has
commenced prior to the expiration date. The Planning Commission and the
City Council may specify a different expiration date at time of approval.
Section 4: All other subsections of Sections 20.80.090, 20.81.090
and 20.82.090 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code shall remain the same and
• shall be in full force and effect.
Section 5: The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to
the passage of this Ordinance. The City Clerk shall cause the same to be
A16 published once in the official newspaper within fifteen (15) days after its
adoption.
Section 6: This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 22nd day of
August , 1988, and adopted on the 12th day of September ,
1988, by the following vote, to -wit:

Hart, Strauss, Sansone, Maurer
