HomeMy WebLinkAbout250 - Coast Boulevard Abandonment• • • iY RESOLUTION ITO..2v` —o A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NFIPPORT BEACH, DECLARING THEIR INTFITTION TO VACATE, CLOSE UP AND ABANDON FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES CER- TAIN PORTIONS OF :COAST BOULEVARD WITHIN THE SAIr CITY. It is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City -of Newport Beach to order those portions of Coast Boulevard hereinafter described within the said city to be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes;.' the said portions of the said Coast Boulevard to be closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes are described as follotius, to =wit; (a). Beginning at the intersection of the south- easterly line of 30th Street and the northeasterly line of Toast Boulevard; thence southeasterly along the northeasterly line of Coast Boulevard to its intersection with the northeasterly nor h prolongation of the esterly line of 29th Street; thence southwesterly along she northeasterly prolongation of the north- westerly line of 29th Street a distance of 23.11 feet to a point; thence northwesterly along a line which line is 42 feet north- easterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of Coast Boulevard to its intersection with the southeasterly line of 30th Street; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly line of 30th Street a distance of 23.31 feet to the place of beginning. . _ 1 _ C Lm • • N u a T (b }. Beginning at the intersection of the north- easterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of 24th Street and a line 40 feet northeasterly of and parallel with the south- westerly line of that part of Coast Boulevard lying southeasterly • of 24th Street; thence southeasterly along a line which line is • 40 feet northeasterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of that part of Coast Boulevard lying immediately southeasterly of 24th Street to its intersection with the westerly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right -of -way; thence westerly along the westerly line of the Southern Pacific. Railroad - 4 - A 4 • - 2 Company's right- of -way to its intersection with the north- easterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of 24th Street ;" thence southwestorly. along the northcastcrly prolongation of the southeasterly line of 24th Street to the place of beginning. &EGTIr CN TTO That the public a.rk herein described is the closing up of the portions of Coast Boulevard described in Section One hereof and it appearing to the Board of Trustees that there are no costs, damages -.or expenses occasioned by or arising out of said work and that no assessment is necessary to pay the costs, damages or expenses of said work and that, therefore, no-assesspient dis- trict of lands to be effected or benefited by said work or im- proverrent is necessary. SECTION THREE The Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach is hereby directed to cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated improvement, at not more than three hun- dred feet in distance apart upon said street, and not less than three in all upon said street, notices of the passage of this re- solution, said notice to be headed, "NOTIOE OF PUBLIC FORK ", in letters not less than one inch in length and stating the fact of the passage of this resolution, its date, and briefly the work of improvement proposed, being that of vacating the portions. of Coast Boulevard herein described, and the said notice shall refer to this resolution for further particulars.; the said Street Super- intendent shall also cause a similar notice to that herein de- scribed, to be published by four successive insertions in the Newport .News, a meekly newspaper, printed, published and circulated - 5 - in said City of Newport Beach*.(there being no daily newspaper so printed, published and qt4oulated in said City), The City Clerk shall, certify to the passage of this resolution and cause a minute thereof to be recorded.in the records Of the meeting of the Board of Trustees at 'which this resolution was passed.
