The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport SEach do re-
solve as follows:
SFCTION 1.
That the public interest and convenience reeuire and it
is the intention of the Board of Trustees of the City of A;ewport
1:cach, C£.liiGrnjE:, to order the construction of thefol.1cwing des-
crib:d work and improvement in said City, to—wit-
That certain portions of the follo-irg streets being
graded, paved with concrete pav:n.ent and Pave installed along cer-
tain portions thereof granite concrete ornamental lighting posts,
conduits, wires a,nd appurtanances fcr the successful operation of
an ornamental lighting eystem:
(a) 14th Street between Santa Ana Avenue and San Bernar-
dim Avenue.
(b) Broad Street between Santa Ana Avenue and San
Bernardino Avenue.
(c) San Bernardino Avenue betvecn Ocean rrive and 14th

(d) Ocean Drive betrftn the Easterly prolongL-.tion cf the

All of the hereinbefore described streets shall be graded
to the official grade in accordance with the plans, rrofiles and
cross sections hereinafter referred to.
All of the fer. going work and improvement is fully set
forth, delineated snd described on plans, profiles, cross — sections
and detailed drawings No. 297 on file in the office of the City Fn-
ginetr of said City heretofore approved by the Board of Trustees of
the City of Newport c:each on the _Z fb, day of rcct:r.bcr, 19£3 by
Fesolution 1;o. ar.d in specifications Yo. 3F adcr.ted by Resolu-
tion io. 186 and u*'ecificatiorm No. 33 adopted by Resolution No.
165 of the Foard cf Trustees of ;aid City and on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City. The said glens, profiles, cross—
sections, detailed drawings end specifications are hereby referred
to for the full and detailed description of said proposed work and
improve-rent.
SFr,TION 2.
That the Board of Trustees also determines and declares
that serial bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven T-er cent
(7°f) per annum shall be issued to represent each assessri.ent of Twenty —
five (ti",25.00) rollars or mere remaining unpaid for twenty days after
the date of the. v.arrart: Said serial bonds shell extend over a per-
iod ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next suc-
ceeding the fifteenth (15th) day of the next Diovember following their
date. Payments on the principal of unsaid asccssments and interest
00 shall be czde by property owners to the City Treasurer and the save
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the said Impro vtment
Act of 1911.
SFCTIO N 3.
That the contemplated work end improvement hereinbefore
mentioned is, in the oxinio n of said Hoard of Trustees, of mere then
• local or ordinary public banefit, ena the expense of said work and
improvement is made chargeable upon the district hereinafter describ-
ed and said Board cf Trustees does hereby declare said district to be
ti-c district benefited by said work and improvement and to be aes.ss-
ed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which district is bounded
and described as follows, to -rrit:
Beginning at themost easterly corner of Lot 6, Block 33,
of a Lap of First Addition to :er-pert Heights, as recorded in 1�ds-

ornia; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most southerly

The Aiewrcrt News, a weekly newspaper, published and cir-
culated and of general circulation in the City of Ye -port Eeach, is
hereby designated e.s the newspaper in which this Peselution of In-
t(�ntio n shall be published, and for the publication of u11 other
noticc;s, resolutions, orders or cther matter required to be pub-
lished by the previsions of the Improvement lot of 1£11 herein-
after referrtc to, and the City Clerk of sa-d pity is hereby direbt-
e:d to cause this Resolution of Intention to be published by two in-
sertions in said r_ewspGFer in the me.nner and form required ty law.
The Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the Clerk u.ail
copies of the, notice of improvement to owners or reputed orders and
he is not re,pirEd to mail the same.
SECTION 6.
The Street Superintendent of said City shall, after the
adoption of said Fesolution of Intention, cause to br. conspicuously
posted along the lin::s of said contemplated work or improverccnt and
along all the open streets within the heruinbefore described asscss-
ment district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Inten-
tion in the manner and form required by law,
SECTION 7.
All the proceedings for the aforesaid Rork and improvement
shall be had and taken under and in accordance with the provisions
of an Act of the Legislatur:. of the State of California, designated
