HomeMy WebLinkAbout430 - Coast Boulevard & Other Improvements1 y RESOLUTION NO. 77 -­'0 IS A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ORDERING THE IMPROVE- MENT OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF COAST BOULEVARD AND OTHER STREETS WITHIN SAID CITY. - - - - - 0 - - - - - � J � The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do resolve as follows: SECTION I. That the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter described to be done, and therefore the said Board of Trustees hereby order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City,. to-wit: That metal lighting standards, conduits, wires and appurtenances for the successful operation of an ornamental street lighting system be constructed upon certain portions of Coast Boulevard from the northeasterly prolongation of the south- easterly line of Avocado Avenue to the northeasterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Lot 64, of Block A, of Tract No. 673, as per map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 20, pages 17 and 18, Records of Orange County, California; also that cement concrete sidewalk be constructed along the southwesterly and west- erly side of Coast Boulevard from the northeasterly prolongation of the southeasterly curb line of Avocado Avenue to the north- easterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Lot 64, Block A, of the aforesaid Tract No. 673, excepting that no cement concrete sidewalk shall be constructed along the aforesaid southwesterly and westerly side of Coast Boulevard from a line 79.86 feet north- westerly of and parallel to the northwesterly line of that part of • Fernleaf Avenue lying immediately westerly of Coast Boulevard to a - 1 - I e line fifty (50) feet northwesterly of and parallel to the afore- said northeesterly line of Fernleaf Avenue, including the construction of cement concrete sidewalk on both sides of Marguerite Avenue from the southwesterly line of Coast Boulevard to a line, which line is 10 feet southwesterly of and parallel to the southwesterly line of Coast Boulevard; and the construction of cement concrete sidewalk along the northeasterly and easterly side of Coast Boulevard from a line 92 feet northwesterly of and parallel with the northwesterly line of that part of Carnation Avenue lying immediately westerly of Coast foM evard to the north- easterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Lot 64, Block As of the aforesaid Tract go. 673; and the construction of cement concrete curb along both sides of-'the roadway of Coast Boulevard from a line drawn at right angles through a point in the southwesterly line of said Coast Boulevard, which point is 105.02 feet southeasterly of the intersection of the southeasterly line of that part of Basel Drive lying southwesterly of Coast Boulevard and the southwesterly line of said Coast Boulevard (measured along the southwesterly line of said ('cast Boulevard), to the north- easterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of Lot 649 Block As of the aforesaid Tract '.4o. 673, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 427, as rdopted by the Board of Trustees of said City on the 16th day of Uay, 1937, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. vor further particulars, reference is hereby made to said 'Resolution of Intention No. 427, and to the plans, profiles, drawings and cross - sections on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City, and according to the specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings, cross-sections and specifications heretofore approved by said Board of Trustees are incorporated herein and made a part - 2 - hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work. SECTION II. The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared that serial bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of twenty -five (25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for twenty (20) days after the date of warrant. For a particular description of said bonds, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention. SECTION III. The said Board of Trustees also determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was, in the opinion of the said Board, of more than local or or- dinary public benefit and the expense of said work and improvement has been made chargeable upon a district. For a particular de- scription of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution. of Intention. SECTION IQ. That sealed bids for said work shall be received up to 7;30 o'clock, P.M. of Monday, the 27th day of June, 1927, at which time said bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared by this Board. The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice inviting sealed bids for said work with the specifications therefor, conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council Chamber door of this Board, and to publish a like notice referring to the specifications posted, or on file, twice in the Newport News, a • weekly newspaper printed „ published and circulated in said City, and hereby designated for that purpose (there being no daily newspaper in said City). - 3 - Passed by the Board,.of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach -this < f9 day of ti`s`^ - 192} 7. pr sident of he Boar Trust es. -�, ATTEST: y Clerk.
