A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF NE?IrPORT BEACH APPOINTING A TIME
AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATIOIT
TO THE PROPOSED IXPROVE'.:IENTS CONTEMPLATED
UNDER RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 429,OF
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID CITY, PASSED
ON MAY 31st, 1927.
MMEAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport
Beach.did on the 31st day of 'lay, 1927, pass a resolution, being
Resolution No. 429, entitled, "A Resolution of the Board of
Trustees of the City of Ne -Dort Beach declaring its intention
to order the planting, protection and maintenance of trees, shrubs,
plants and grass along and in certain portions of Ocean Boulevard
and other streets in Corona del Her, within said City, under the
"Tree Planting Act of 191511, and
17=AS, said Resolution No. 429 directed the City
Engineer to make and file 7ith the City Clerk and Ex- offioio Clerk
of the Board of Trustees a report in writing presenting plans and
specifications for the work to be performed, and estimate of cost
of the improvement, including the incidental expenses in connection
therewith and the annual cost of maintenance thereof for a period
of five (5) years, a diagram of the property affected or benefited
by the proposed.work or improvement and to be assessed to pay the
costs and expenses thereof, and an assessment of the total amount
of the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement; and
AREAS, the City Engineer has filed with the City Clerk
and Ex- officio Clerk of the Board of Trustees of said City the
. aforesaid plans and specifications, estimates of Cost, diagrams
• and assessments, as directed in said Resolution of Intention No.
429; and
WMEAS, the City Clerk and Ex- officio Clerk of the
Board of Trustees of said City has presented said plans, specifi-
cations, estimates, diagram and assessment to the Board of

Trustees for consideration; 'Ihow,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the City
of Newport Beach as follons-
That this Board herebk*:;fixes Monday, the 25th day of July,
1927, at 7;30 o'clock, P.P. as the time and the Council Chamber
of the City Fall of eaid City as the place for hearing protests
in relation to the proposed improvements as provided in Resolution
of Intention No. 429, and the City Clerk and Ex- officio Clerk of
the Board of Trustees of said City is hereby directed to give notice
of said hearing. The Newport Ness, a meekly newspaper printed,
published and circulated in said City is hereby designated as the
newspaper in which said notice shall be published.
The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall cause
to be conspicuously posted along all streets, avenues, lanes, alleys,
courts, places and pathTwrays, or parts thereof, included in said
Resolution No. 429, at not more than three hundred (300) feet in
distance apart, but not less than three (3) in all upon each such
street, avenue, lane, alley, court, place and pathway, notices
of the passage of said Resolution of Intention, and of the filing
of said report, and shall also cause a notice similar in sulbstpnce
/ to be'-published by one insertion in the Newport News, a weekly
newspaper printed, published and circulated in said City (there
being no daily newspaper published in said City), all in the manner
and form required by law.
For further particulars regarding said work and improve -
ment; reference is hereby made to the aforesaid Resolution of
Intention No. 429 and to the report of the City Engineer,on file
in the office of the City Clerk and Ex- officio Clerk of the Board
of Trustees of said City.
