A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach fixing the rate per oentum and levying a tax upon all of the taxable property within the City of Newport Beach which is taxable therein for municipal purposes. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach do resolve and declare as follows: let. Resolved, that there be and is hereby levied upon all of the taxable property within the City of Newport Beach, which is taxable therein for municipal purposes, a tax for the �l{ purpose of raising the necessary money with which to carry on the various departments of the City of Newport Beach for the current fiscal year. 2nd. Resolved, that the rate per oentum of the tax hereinafter levied shall be and is hereby fixed at the sum of one (1) dollar three (3) cents on each one hundred dollars of value designated for each fund as follows; For the current expense fund - one (1) dollar For the library fund - three (3) cents Total tax levy - one (1) dollar three (3) cents 3rd. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied for municipal purposes, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within the City of Newport Beach a tax for the purpose of raising the necessary and sufficient money to pay the annual interest on all issued, outstanding and unpaid municipal bonds of the City of Newport Beach, and also such part o$ the principal thereof as shall become due before the time for fixiftg the next general tax levy in end for said city, the rate hereby levied for said purposes is fixed at thirty cents on each one hundred (100) !� dollars of value, and the same shall be collected at the same time and in the same manner as all other municipal taxes are collected, - 1 - 9 • 1 V P excepting upon property annexed at an election held the 11th day of February, 1924, and known as Corona Del Mar, provided that the said taxes herein levied shall be exclusive of any tax levied for the payment of �v interest and principal of $350;000 bonds of the City of Newport Beach issued and sold for the completion of the municipal water system thereof. 4th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied for municipal purposes there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within the city of Newport Beach e. tax for the purpose of raising the necessary and sufficient money to pay 3$c, C . the annual interest on $350,000.00 bonds of the City of Newport Beach issued and sold for the completion of the municipal water system thereof, issued, outstanding, and unpaid of the City and also such part of the principal thereof as shall the time for fixing the next general tax levy in and the rate of the tax hereby levied for said purpose i U.y_ five (55) cents on each one hundred (100) dollars of of Newport Beach, become due before for said city, a fixed at fifty - value. 5th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied there is hereby levied on all the taxable property is within the city of Newport Beach a tax of fifteen (7-5) cents on each one hundred (100) dollars for advertising purposes, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 144 submitted to and carried by a majority of the votes of all the votes voting at an election held for the purpose of voting for or against said ordinance on the 24th day of September, 1918. 6th. Resolved, ths.t in addition to all other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within the Municipal Improvement District No. 1 of the City of Newport Beach a. tax of five (5) cents on each one hundred (100) dollars of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said district. - 2 - l Ll • 7th. Resolved, that in addition to all other • taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 2 of the City of Newport Beach a tax of twenty (20) cents on each one hundred (100) dollars of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said district. 8th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 3 of the City of V Newport Beach a tax of fifty -five (55) cents on each one hundred (100) dollars of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said district. 9th. Resolved, that in addition to all other taxes herein levied, there is hereby levied on all of the taxable property within Municipal Improvement District No. 4 of the City of Newport Beach a tax of twenty -five (25) cents on each one hundred (100) dollars of assessed valuation for the payment of semi - annual interest on and the redemption of the bonds of said district. 10th. Delinquencies having occurred in the payment of assessments and interest thereon for the work done and improvement made in the City of Newport Beach, pursuant to the follow- ing resolutions: Resolution of Intention No. 133, passed, adopted and approved on the 6th day of July, 1920; Resolution of Intention No. 160, passed, adopted and approved on the 20th day of March, 1922; Resolution of Intention No. 158, passed, adopted and approved on the 20th day of March, 1922; Resolution of Intention No. 156, passed, adopted and approved on the 6th day of March, 1922; Resolution of Intention No. 196, passed, adopted and approved on the 7th day of August, 1922; Resolution of Intention No. 215, passed, adopted and approved on the 5th day of February, 1923; -3- r 0 • Resolution of Intention No. 304, passed, adopted and approved on the 26th day of November, 1924; • Resolution of Intention No. 312, passed, adopted and approved on the 5th day of January, 1925; Resolution of Intention No. 323, passed, adopted and approved on the 16th day of February, 1925; l J The property upon which the assessments and interest were a lien having, on account of said delinquencies, been sold to the City of Newport Beach, and there being no available funds in the treasury of the City of Newport Beach with which to pay the delinquent assessments and delinquent interest thereon, and the tax collector having made demand on the City Council that a suitable amount be included in the tax levy a')_ a F of 1927 -28 for the purpose of providing funds with which to make such payments, there is hereby levied on each one hundred (100) dollars of assessed value of the real and personal property in the City of Newport Beach therein taxable for municipal purposes the sum of ten (10) cents for the purpose of making such payments. The above and foregoing Resolution was passed, adopted and approved by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular 3 meeting thereof held on the 5th day of September, 1927, by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen - L. S. Wilkinson, Felix B. Modjeska, Harry H. Williamson, Conrad Richter. Noes, Councilmen - None Absent, Councilmem - Fred W.
