to the contempla d road along the Pacific Electric righ f -way in
West Newport was ,ed.
The commu 'cation from the Boulder Dam Asso ation in
regard to power right and other benefits from the orado River
was considered, and on tion of Councilman Hilme eoonded by
Councilman Ellsworth and rried, the matter we eferred to the
City Attorney for action to draw up the pet papers for all
water or power which will be eeded by the C y.
A resolution by the lboa Isla mprovement Association
expressing a willingness to beco a par of a mosquito abatement
district was read, and considered, nd motion of Councilman Claire
seconded by Councilman Williamson an arried, the resolution was
referred to the City Attom ey to re on at the next meeting.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
ORDINANCE NO. 366 entitled:
AN ORDER OF CITY COUNCIL AND ARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE CITY OF EWPORT BEACH, CALLING SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION BE HELD IN SAID CITY OF ORT BEACH ON
TUESDAY OCTOBER 22, 19293 AND SUBMITT TO THE
QUALIF D VOTERS OF SAID CITY A CERTAIN POSITION
FOR ISSUANCE AND SALE OF SOLIDS OF SAID ITY OF
NE ORT BEACH IN THE AMOUNT AND FOR THE PURP ES IN
ID ORDINANCE STATED, AND FIXING THE PRECINCT AND
OLLING PLACES FOR THE HOLDING OF SAID ELECTION, ND
APPOINTING THE OFFICERS OF SAID ELECTION AND FIXI
THEIR COMPENSATION,

City Engineer Patterson stated that it would be necessary
to make another apvlication to the War Department for permission to
construct the two groins which were contemplated in the bond election,
and Councilman Hilmer introduced a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION Cr THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE
APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT ENGINEER
FOR A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT GROINS WEST OF THE WEST
JETTY AND -THE DREDGING OF THE ENTRANCE CHANNEL.
The Resolution was read, considered, designated
RESOLUTION NO. 527 and upon cdl of the roll passed by the following
vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilman Hilmer., Claire, Ellsworth, Williamson,
Johnson.
NOES, Councilmen None.
ABSENT, Councilmen None.
City Attorney Thompson stated he found the agreement from
Wm. C. ttenden which was referred to him at the last meeting sati
