RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OF SAID CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH SHOULD BE SOLD, FIRING THE PRICE THEREOF AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER OF SAID CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH TO DISPOSE OF THE SAME AT THE PRICE STATED. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to install certain electrical equipment in the City Pumping Plant of the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, Notice inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of said electrical equipment for the City of Newport Beach has been duly published, and the award for the contract of the furnishing of. such electrical equipment has been duly made as required by law; and WHEREAS, the old equipment located at the City Pumping Plant is of no further use to the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach has duly reported to the City Council that said old equipment hereinafter mentioned is not required by the City of Newport Beach and that he has made numerous efforts to dispose of the same and that the best bid that he has received for said old equipment is the sum of $1550.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; The City Council cfthe City of Newport Beach, now determines and declares that that certain equipment now located at the City Pumping Plant and more particularly described as follows, to —wit: One 30 H. P. Western Gas Engine One Mianus Diesel Engine (125 H. P.) is not needed by the City of Newport Beach and that the City of f 7 . 1 Newport Beach has no further use or need for the same. 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the sum of $1550.00, • 3 bid by the Southern California Edison Company, as per their lette 4 of November 23rd, 1929, addressed to R. L. Patterson, City 5 Engineer of the City of Newport Beach, and on file herein, is the 6 highest and best bid that has been received for said personal 7 property above described, and that said sum is not disproportion- 8 ate to the value of said personal property; and 9 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the said bid of the 10 Southern California Edison Company for said personal property, 11 to -wit: the sum of $1550.00, be and the same is hereby accepted, 12 and the City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach is hereby 13 authorized in the name of said City and on behalf of the City of 14 Newport Beach to sell said p , personal property and the whole 15 thereof, to the Southern California Edison Company, for the sum 16 of $1550.00. 17 „ 18 I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was 19 duly and regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the City 20 Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting 21 of the City Council held on the day of December, 1929, 22 by the following vote, to�wit: 23 24 AYES, COUNCILMEN: 25 (for 26 NOES, COUNCILMEN• 27 - ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: r?l-�-� — 28 ^ >� ATTEST: 29 - Clerfk - City of Newport Beach 30 31 Mayor ty ofNewport Beach,- 32 ROLAND THOMPSON ATTORNEY AT LAW MANTA ANA.
