RESOLUTION NO. J' SJ-
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
WHEREAS, Section 21 of Ordinance No. 361 of the
City of Newport Beach has been amended by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach by Ordinance No. L37/ of said City; and
WHEREAS, certain persons have heretofore paid
their licenses under Section 21 of Ordinance No. 361 as the
same read prior to the time of its amendment by Ordinance No.
371 of said City; and
WHEREAS, said licenses were paid under protest;

WHEREAS, certain other persons refused to pay
their licenses under Section 21 of Ordinance No. 361, as the
same read prior to the time of its amendment as aforesaid, on
the grounds that the same was excessive, unfair and discrimi-
native; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, believing that Section 21 of Ordinance No: 361 of said
City of Newport Beach should be amended so as not to discriminate
against the businesses therein mentioned, did amend the same
as aforesaid.
NOS, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That all persons
who have paid amounts in excess of twelve dollars ($12.00) per
annum under protest, and in accordance with Section 21 of
Ordinance No. 361 of said City of Newport Beach, as the same
read before amended, be reimbursed for all amounts in excess
of twelve dollars ($12.00) upon claim being made therefor in
the manner provided by law.
