RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ON THURSDAY, THE 20TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1934, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH CERTAIN PROPOSITIONS NUMBERED ONE TO FIVE CONSECUTIVELY, FOR THE GRANTING TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CERTAIN TIDE LANDS AND SUBMERGED LANDS BELONGING TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, AND ORDER THE SUB- MISSION OF SAID PROPOSITIONS TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, AT A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ON THURSDAY, THE 20TH DAY OF SEPT- EMBER, 1934. WHEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in the City of Newport Beach on Thursday, the 20th day of September, 1934, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Newport Beach five (5) certain propositions hereinafter stated, in which said propositions the question of whether or not the grants therein described, should be made by the City of Newport Beach to the United States of America, for public and governmental (including military and naval) purposes of the United States of America, and the electors of the City of Newport Beach were on said day invited to vote for or against said propositions, and the form in which said propositions were submitted to said electors was as follows; Shall the States of America military andnavalj those certain tide City of Newport Be. follows, to -wit; FIRST PROPOSITION City of Newport Beach grant to the United for public and governmental (including purposes of the United States of America, lands or submerged lands situated in the ach, and more particularly described as PAROEL "A" All that certain land situated in the city of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows, to -wit; 1 2 3 4 • 5 6 7 8 9 10 0 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 ROLAHO THOMP ON AT CRNZY AT LAW ��A. SECOND PROPOSITION Shall the Oity of Newport Beach grant to the United States of America, for public and governmental (including military and naval) purposes of the United States of America, those certain tide lands or submerged lands situated in the City of Newport Beach, and more particularly described as follows; to -wit: PARCEL "B" All that certain land situated in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Channel Road as said Channel Road is laid out, and shown upon a map of Tract 518, recorded in Book 17, pages 33 to 36 inclusive, of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange-County, California, which point is south 150 001 East 60 feet from the southwesterly corn of Lot 1, Block P of said Tract 518; running thence North 750 001 East 70 feet to a point in the United States Bulkhead line between U. S. Station 107 and U. S. Station 108, as said bulk- head line is laid out and shown upon a map of Newport Bay showi harbor lines, and approved by the U. S. And WHEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly. and regularly given as required by law, and notice of election was duly and regularly published at least twice in Newport News, a weekly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the city of Newport Beach, and said notice was published not later than the 20th day before the said 20th day of September, 1934, which said notice of election specified the propositions hereinbefore stated, and the qualified electors of said City of Newport Beach were invited by said notice to vote for or against said propositions; and WHEREAS, voting precincts were properly established and election officers were appointed, and election supplies furnished, and in all respects said election was held and conducts and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the General Laws of the State for holding municipal.elections in (cities of the sixth class; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach met at the Council chambers of the Board on Monday, the 24th day of September, 1934, to canvass the returns of said election and -4- . • 0 I 1 to declare the result thereof, as a result of which the City 2 Council finds that the number of cotes cast, the propositions 3 voted for, andother matters required by law to be as hereinafter 4 stated. 5 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: That said 6 special municipal election was held and conducted on Thursday, 7 the 20th day of September, 1934, in time, form and manner as 8 required by law; that there were seven (q) voting precincts 9 established for the holding of said election, annsisting of 10 seven (7) regular election precincts established for holding 11 general state and county elections as follows: 12 NEWPORT BEACH PRECINCT NO. 1 13 Polling Place 14 Maskey's Real Estate Office 36th and Coast Boulevard, Newport Beach, California. 15 Officers of Election 16 Inspector Mrs. Eunice B.
