HomeMy WebLinkAbout858 - Wooden Bulkhead Construction - Tract 518RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK No. RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, that the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter mentioned. to be done, and there- fore the said City Council hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be.made in the said City,to -wit: The construction of a wooden bulkhead and appurtenances and appurtenant work adjaceiat and contiguous to the-easterly line of Block P of Tract No.518, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No.854, passed and adopted by the City Council of the said City on the 24th day of September, 1934, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 854 and to the plans, profiles and sections No.399 on file in the office of the City Engineer of the said City of Newport Beach, and to the specifications for the said work adopted by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of the said plans, profiles, sections and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council of the said City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular descrip- tion of the said work. Said City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was, in • the opinion of the said City Council, of more than local or • Jll ordinary public benefit and the said City Council has made the expenses of the said work chargeable upon a district. For the particular description of the said assessment district reference is hereby made to the said Resolution of Intention No, 854, Said City Council has determined and declared that serial bonds shall be issued, bearing (7%). per annum, the said bonds Twenty -five and no /100 Dollars for a period of thirty (30) da Said serial bonds shall extend from the second day of January interest at the rate of seven per cent to represent unpaid assessments of ($25.00), or more, remaining unpaid Ts after the date of the warrant. over a period ending nine (9) years next succeeding the next October fifteenth following their date. Payments on the principal of unpaid assessments and interest shall be made by property owners to the City Treasurer of said City and the same shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911" and amend- ments to the said Act. All of the work herein ordered and for the issuance of bonds shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated "Improvement Act of 1911 ", approved April 7, 1911, and all acts amendatory thereto. The City Clerk of the said City is hereby directed to post conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the chamber door of the said City Council, in the manner and form required by law, a notice, with the specifications, .inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered, and the said City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice in the Newport News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in the said City and hereby designated for that -2- • a purpose by the City Council, a notice inviting such proposals or bids for doing the said work, and referring to the specifica- 0 tions posted or on file.
