RESOLUTION NO. J��, i,,l!
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the city of Newport Beach a certain agreement dated
the 4th day of March, 1941, by and between the Griffith Company,
a corporation, party of the first part, and the CITY OF NEWPORT
Beach, party of the second part; and
WHEREAS, said agreement provides that the party of the
second part hires and retains the party of the first part for the
furnishing of all labor, materials, transportation and services
in the grading and paving of the City Street Department Yard
located on Lots 14 to 20 inclusive, Block 530, Lancaster's Additi
to Newport Beach, in accordance with the plans and specifications
prepared by the City Engineer of the city of Newport Beach, and on
file with the City Clerk of said city, for the doing of said work,
a copy of which specifications is attached to said agreement and
made a part thereof; and
WHEREAS, said agreement specifically sets forth the
terms, conditions and price for the doing of said work; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Newport Beach
�I deeme that it is for the best interests of said city that said
agreement be executed, and that the work therein specified be
done by the party of the first part, upon the terms and conditions
In said agreement set forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Mayor and
City Clerk ofthe city of Newport Beach be, and they are hereby
directed, authorized and instructed to execute Bald agreement in
the name -of and on behalf of the city of Newport Beach, and that
a duly executed copy thereof be delivered by the City Clerk to
the party of the first part in said agreement named.
